Traffic, one of the much-discussed films in Mollywood which has earned critical acclaim besides an impressive run at the BO, has for long been "under discussion" to show up in its Hindi version.
The last, we hear, is that Asin has been approached to do a prominent role in the multi-starrer flick.
The actress confirms the news."Yes, that's right. I haven't committed to the project, though. Let's see," Asin tells us. In a recent interview she gave us, Asin had expressed her wish to come back to Mollywood - the place where she began her filmi innings from.
"I loved many of the recent films in Malayalam, including Passenger, Traffic and Beautiful. I've been wanting to be a part of Malayalam films for long now. So far, my debut (Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka) is the only film I have to my credit in my home ground. With many of the recent films making headway in the Malayalam film industry and ready to be remade in Bollywood, I'd love be associated with them," she says. Is this just the beginning of Asin re-establishing her connect with Malayalam? Wait and watch!
ASIN IN JAIPUR
Asin is currently shooting in Jaipur for Bol Bachchan. The actress says that she has been having some lovely time on the sets of the shoots, as she loves to shoot in Jaipur. Asin is obsessed with Jaipur these days, She says, “Though I am shooting in Jaipur, it is like a holiday to me. I am enjoying the totally different ambience here. I was eagerly waiting for my Jaipur schedule. The city has become one of my favourites. After the shoot is over I would like to come here again and explore the city.”
Asin has possibly had the most envious line-upof co-stars, ever since she made her debut in B-town. The actor, who has had a very successful run down South before she stepped into Bollywood, had a dream debut in 'Ghajini' opposite Aamir Khan. In her second film, she was paired opposite Salman Khan. But the actress does not believe in mixing her professional life with personal life.
Ask her if like manyother actors, she too turns to her former co-stars for advice and she denies it. "I am in touch with Aamiron and off, but I have never really turned to him for any help or advice. I did wish him on the birth of his baby recently but beyond that, we do not talk about work. My personal equation with him is independent from our professional life,"says Asin.
Having worked with Aamir and Salman, what's stopping her from doing a film with the third Khan -- Shah Rukh?"Of course, I would love to work with Shah Rukh. He is one of the best actors we have in the industry. If agood project comes up then I would love to do a film with him. I have hardly started out and there are loads of talented actors out there,"Asin explains.
But considering there is a clear case of campism in the industry, does it not inconvenience her to work with most actors? "No", she says emphatically as she continues in the same breath, "I am not a part of any camp in Bollywood. What we call camps are basically people who share a personal equation with each other andwork together. They are people, who are friends off screen.." Camps aside, there were rumours about her having signed up for a TV show recently. Is she considering doing one? "I haven't thought about TV as yet because I want to solely concentrate on films. I have been to shows as a guest on a talk show, but that's about it. I don't know if I would be able to take up TV right now."
The latest rumour doing the rounds in the industry is that ace director Shankar has approached actress Asin to be part of his next film. We had earlier reported that after Nanban, Shankar is likely to do a film for producer Aascar Ravichandran, which will reportedly be made in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam with Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Mohanlal. It's for this project that Asin was supposed to have been approached.
The actress and the filmmaker were seen engaged in a long conversation at the recently-held awards ceremony in Mumbai. While Asin agrees that she was indeed chatting with Shankar, she refuses to comment when asked if she will be doing his film. Talking from Jaipur, where she's shooting a song for Bol Bachchan, Asin says, "Shankar and I did catch up during the awards ceremony. We bonded really well. But I'm not at liberty to comment on the conversation we had. Anything to do with his film has to be answered by him."
The 'Deshdrohi' actor and producer, KRK, has expressed his feelings on his Twitter account.
The self proclaimed actor KRK was previously in love with the Indian model and actress, Sara Khan, but this time it's the 26-year-old Asin, who KRK is after.
KRK wrote on his Twitter account, “I really wish I could express my love to her directly! Alas! She's not on Twitter, so she can't read my tweets. But, it would be a dream come true if a gorgeous girl like Asin, who is so beautiful from within, could be my Valentine! I agree that on Twitter, I write whatever I feel like, but in this case my feelings are genuine.”
Although KRK has insisted he admires Asin 'from the core of his heart', it doesn't look as if he is going to get any response and reason is obviously his history.
